Tips On Buying An Engagement Ring

18th November - Submitted by Fine Jewelry

Brought to you by cheap princess cut engagement rings.

You know you are both ready. You’d like to have a traditional engagement, ring and all. It may be two also. One for him and the other for her. Just think of it. Purchasing expensive jewelry is not a regular leisure activity. How is an engagement ring purchased?

A surprise from him could be the very first thing and could be the option to purchase a ring for her. (sometimes she gives it to him) during a proposal. This approach is not recommended due to the risk as there is a huge initial capital outlay on an approach that may or may not work.  This approach has a tendency of putting all parties involved at a disadvantage.

Even if you want to play out the classical, lovable, corny ritual of giving your love a box when you pop the question, think carefully about purchasing a “place holder ring.” What this is is a ring that you love that is less expensive, and stands in place of the ring that you will choose together.

You should try to make the woman who will wear the engagement ring part of the buying process. When purchasing jewelry, most people have a good idea of the things they like.  They usually know what jewelry is comfortable to wear, which styles will last throughout their lifetime without getting boring or looking aged, and which colors/metals work best. We believe there are many people with serious allergies to metals, people with strong preferences for style, and people in the demand for jobs that limit the choices of jewelry, or even prohibit jewelry while at work.

Make sure to set a budget for the ring you’re buying.  Get your partner involved so that the budget is realistic. The total investment commitment in a jewel of a ring can make or break your budget in the early years of their marriage, the cost of the wedding and wedding reception. Unless you have a large fortune, you should use good planning rather than great show — and most partners would rather see you have good sense and an enthusiasm for spendthrift.

You should always be clear about your financial limits, needs and goals in shopping for diamonds, whether you’re talking to a shopping mall counter person or a professional jewelry designer. You need to give a professional all the required information or he will be unable to help you. Unless you’ve done research online and at a library, plan to spend several hours comparing rings and stones at any given store.

Also, remember to describe your preferences to the jeweler, engagement rings don’t have to be a standard solitaire. If you wanted a private made setup or if you are providing a stone from a family ring, you guide should be made aware.

Be unique and a smart shopper, and get a stone besides the traditional ones. If the white glitter of diamonds is not to your partners liking, he or she may like the green durable sheen of a good jade. Maybe a sapphire would also be appealing? It could that both of you fall for the conventional diamonds, but for the prohibitive costs. There is currently a stock of very good substitute diamonds available at good prices some look better then the real thing.

You are ready to begin the process of buying an engagement ring once you have considered all of these things. It is like a maze of many choices but once you think them through things should become clearer. When purchasing the ring, you have to have an extremely good idea about the ring you want to purchase.
